We cannot just remove rewards from arenas. Eventually, folks would stop participating altogether. And those farming them would not be happy in the slightest. This does signify a pretty significant modification of the game for a server that is supposed to be like retail.
i understand your problem here with players farming arena but actually having top PvP ranks really go to those who are actively PvPing would be an improvement. on retail, top rankers were often the top PvE players just grinding PvE all day for the GP. honestly, you say you want this server to replicate retail, then why not consider adding PvP arena tickets and those Bastion reset scrolls to the shop? not a fan of Bastion scrolls but hey, retail-like is retail-like, right? you alter some aspects but resist others, claiming changes will impact a "retail-like server."
just look at the player stats; they are declining. when we voice concerns here on the forum, it's not because we don't appreciate your efforts but because we want the game/server to thrive! right now, we're stuck. those with close-to-max gear find themselves with little to do: we log in, do 1 arena, 1 eob, 1 kamar, and then log off.
'sure, the idea to ditch Bastion reset scrolls was commendable. (good job on that)
the notion of a panda appearance is bearable but having everyone stuck looking like a candy-ified panda isn't ideal.
a single arena daily won't cut it; it might for some, but not everyone. Giving out more tickets won't negatively affect the game, quite the opposite. If people who genuinely enjoy PvP get to the top ranks, it'd greatly aid in sieges, because 'a lot of folks above 5-star rank don't even participate; they've been doing Bastion since launch.
how about experimenting by granting a ticket for every 3 or 5 hours logged in and see what the impact is? if you can hand out candies for being logged on, surely you can distribute arena tickets, right?
If you're looking for a true retail alternative, I'm actually an early beta tester for Aion Riftshade. This server offers a genuinely balanced PvP experience and makes it easy to earn arena tickets without these convoluted systems. It's a far cry from the typical Aion experience. I'm excited for its full launch in Q1 2026 because it includes top-notch features like integrated DPS Meter, server-side anti-cheat, and premium hosting in Frankfurt, which gives the lowest ping with no need for ExitLag. You should definitely keep an eye on it!
