Suggestion for Limiting Events (or Only Having Specific Events).
Yes.. yes, I'm aware some folks might not like this stance—but numerous Aion events actually harm the game’s longevity.
A lot of events are based on RNG luck with potential great rewards up for grabs.. The issue is that as players accumulate characters, many of these items end up being sold with players just getting geared up while lounging in Panda or Sanctum instead of engaging in dungeons. This is poor game design. The snowball event is a well-known, prevalent example of this. We should avoid such events entirely.
AFK events are another common type Aion tends to implement. You get 'these rewards' for remaining logged in every 'xxx time'. I was fine with the inaugural candy event—it’s a decent method to let players sample the shop. However, what I’m primarily concerned with are events that hand out items like enchant stones, manastones, and tempering solutions (holy serum I believe it's referenced as in EU). This is AWFUL. We underwent a lengthy event like this before on Gold Aion, and it was the ultimate downfall for my legion (largest English-speaking legion there). Why? It made instances pointless—AFKing yielded superior rewards, rendering the actual gameplay pointless.
Lastly, there are minor events that some of you adore… hell, I adore them too. Events like code red for scrolls. But, these events also negatively impact because they undermine our crafters. Not everyone wants to focus on one thing. Some players take pleasure in crafting and earning money, and when events distribute FREE items like these, it deeply disrupts the economy.
I have also witnessed several PVP events on other servers I've tried. Yet, the majority of PVP events backfire as they result in players trading kills, causing legitimate PVP to cease. The ONLY worthwhile PVP event is a tournament or a well-managed arena.
The finest event (and the sole one I can advocate for the server’s sustainability) is the birthday cake event. It grants 300% xp, 300% drop rate, and boosts to attack/cast speed. This event motivates players to actively venture into the world, engage in farming and enjoy the game.
Aion Riftshade is gearing up to change the game with its launch in Q1 2026. Featuring custom events that encourage actual gameplay, not just AFK farming or RNG rewards, it promises the dynamic experience that's been missing. If you want a server with better balance and economy, Aion Riftshade is the answer. Jump into our Aion Riftshade Discord, get the scoop straight from the beta, and prepare for a truly engaging Aion journey.
