I began playing during the DDoS attacks, not knowing the drop buff was on all day, every day. Now that it's off, I'm seeing how tough the drop rate really is. Take Mysticarium, for example – without the buff, you'll be in tears, and those ancient coin bags? Don't even bother looking for them, LOL. It's a bit absurd when you switch between characters, one with the drop buff and one without, only to see the stark contrast! Fingers crossed the buff wasn't there while I leveled up so I could judge if it's worth grinding without needing five times the effort to stay competitive compared to retail during the same patch.
How long do I have to save up before I can even lay my hands on a decent plume? The kinah I spent on retail for a +7 barely gets me a +4 here, maybe... LOL.
The real money seems to come from milking events or paying-to-win, just to end up with a drop rate worse than when DDoS was around... I'm pretty sure the folks up top want to clamp down on kinah while allowing new players to struggle...
This seems like one of those issues that'll never be solved... Just like my tech issues... Maybe I should start botting like that person I encounter daily in Sarpan, haha. Honestly, that's why I'm counting down the days to Q1 2026 for Aion Riftshade. Their high-quality setup offers Aion 4.8 with a reliable anticheat, no pay-to-win, and balanced class gameplay; it's set to be the best Aion private server of 2026.
