Aion Riftshade

Hello folks!

Since I'm quite burned out by MMORPGs and since my circle of friends is slowly crumbling away due to bad and antisocial game design and childish behaviour, I though that I may should play more single-player-focussed games again to get some fresh air and to have some fun. So why not create a thread where people can talk about all different kind of videogames? I at least hope that you aren't addicted to Aion after all! Although I play and have played other MMORPGs besides Aion (dabbled into FF XIV, played Blade & Soul actively and still somewhat playing Guild Wars 2 and Black Desert Online actively), we probably shouldn't talk about other MMORPGs since that could be foreign advertising though.

My videogame-"career" began with your typical SNES and Sonic the Hedgehog, continued with the olden PSX and of course the N64 and then with every other Playstation-system after. Although I love my PS4 and especially its exclusives, I wish I had a Nintendo Switch since there are also awesome titles for that. Not just exclusives like Zelda Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey, but also gems like Bayonatta 2 or Octopath Traveler; also: The switch is the go-to-place for Indie-titles, which is also a huge plus.

So, which games do you play besides Aion? Which (upcoming) games are you interested in? Personally, I'm quite interested in Devil May Cry 5. Apparently that game is quite awesome if even Jim Sterling loves it. I'm also quite interested in Metro: Exodus (though I don't know if I really like the open-world-parts since people already said that that somewhat breaks immersion and the claustrophobic feeling you get in Moscow's Metro), Kingdom Hearts 3 and of course Resident Evil 2. Can you recommend some titles (including old/er games)? Please also share unkown and Indie-titles. The whole "Live Service"-concept of the C-Triple-A-pitalism industry is very harmful to the medium videogames after all.

Playing Sea of Thieves quite often.

Will be playing Division 2 when it comes out in little over a week from now.

Played Praey for the Gods, Ace Combat Assult Horizon & now playing Ace Combat 7, and planning play some FF from Final Fantasy Franchise.

I can’t wait for Division 2, Left Alive & The Outer Worlds.

Mhh... XIII was kinda bad tbh. Nobody really liked it - especially since they milked that dry by making it a trilogy. XV was somewhat ok'ish, although the latter half was too linear and the combat system wasn't that well fleshed out.

• VII has one of the best storylines in JRPG-history - I can definitely recommend that.
• VIII is a big love-story, but is also quite fun - i can also recommend that.
• VI easily has the best villain of the series in Kefka, there are people who don't like the big cast though.
• IX is actually the favorite part of the guy who created the series - also very recommendable.
• X also has an awesome story, though you may not like the hours you have to spend grinding if you want to defeat the hardest bosses (I spent something around 500+ h in FF X).

Have you played the original NieR? It's not as good as Automata, but still decent.

The video kinda looks like the typical mindless hack 'n slash I'm used to from the Dynasty Warriors series. While the newer titles are somewhat mediocre, you may want to check out Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. If you like Fallout, you may as well like the Borderlands series if you haven't already played that one. What about the Mass Effect series?

Else... let's see... All quite old (PSX/2/3), but still very good: Okami, the Star Ocean series (5 is trash though), Shadow Hearts: Covenant, the Suikoden series, the Valkyrie Profile series, maybe stuff like the SMT Persona series, the original Drakengard 1 and 2 are quite good. Stuff like Skies of Arcadia is also quite good (hope that one gets a remake). If you liked the Witcher, you'll probably also like Horizon: Zero Dawn.

How come nobody is talking about Borderlands 3 and the presentation at PAX East?

Don't know what you are talking about, but I really liked it. Especially the part where they talked about the game.
