Backstory
On venturing triumphantly to Tiamaranta, the Elysian and Asmodian fleets get ensnared in Tiamat's gravitational trap hidden within the clouds. Narrowly avoiding destruction, they touch down in the strange and desolate realm known as Laphsaran.
Laphsaran – a massive rift through the land, where towering stone formations reach skyward and a somber shadowy domain reigns below – was once under the rule of Dragon Lord Apsu.
However, the 5th Balaur Lady, Tiamat, managed to secure the region, retaining the Daevas of both factions in a gravitational snare that stretches up into the skies over Laphsaran. Escaping will be exceedingly challenging. Even Apsu’s elusive rebels fear the wrath of the Dragon Lady. Yet perhaps they hold the secret to escaping Laphsaran’s barrenness?
How to Reach Laphsaran
Elyos can reach Laphsaran by the Eos Portal in Inggison, while Asmodians should enter through the Minox Portal in Gelkmaros. You must be at least level 56 to enter Laphsaran at a cost of 50,000 Kinah.
Laphsaran: Land of Crossed Swords
The battle between Elyos and Asmodians surges in Laphsaran more intensely than ever. Yet, discontent brews among faction ranks: the expanses of Laphsaran include stretches of unclaimed land known as Lawless Zones. Here, particularly unscrupulous Daevas can wage bloodshed on their own! If you enter such zones, do not grow complacent around similarly aligned Daevas.
Numerous outposts dot Laphsaran at crucial points. The Balaur initially control these strongholds, but it's up to bold Daevas to seize them. Achieving this requires neutralizing the garrison commander. Holding the base is just as crucial! The opposing faction will, of course, aim to seize control, eager to claim the fortresses or, at minimum, ensure they slip out of your grasp...
Soon after claiming a base, your faction’s commanding officer will appear at the garrison. Endeavor to protect them. Only while a garrison is held by your faction can you complete the daily and weekly group missions marked in green there and earn highly coveted Mithril Medals! These medals can be used to obtain two all-new equipment sets for level 60: the Archon/Guardian Admiral’s sets. You can trade Mithril Medals at the noble armor/accessory traders in Inggison or Gelkmaros.
Special missions available at your valiantly acquired outposts can also net you Garrison Seals. Some wandering merchants are especially eager for these: Even the most perilous zone can be lucrative for cunning Shugos with a knack for trade – especially when they have rare goods at their disposal. This is exactly what certain guild merchants will be showcasing at various spots in Laphsaran each evening from 7 PM to 2 AM. However, traveling merchants cannot carry an abundance of goods, so stock is limited. It’s a classic case of first come, first serve!
For fairness' sake, the guilds have opted to limit the quantity of each item sold to individual Daevas, allowing as many Daevas as possible to benefit from the restricted offers. Be aware that these merchants have conscripted some skilled thieves from a rehabilitation initiative: although they won’t risk their probation by pilfering, they will check your bags and ensure the merchants know your inventory. If you're overloaded with goods, they're not selling you more.
Particular wandering Daevas are very interested in the Shugos' goods. They'll offer Adventurer’s Seals in exchange, which can be redeemed with Latarunerk (Elyos) or Laphrunerk (Asmodians). These two entrepreneurial Shugos know just how to captivate a Daeva, presenting a selection of cosmetics and emotes! Seek them out by the flight paths in Laphsaran.
Lawless Zone Treasure Hunt
Treasure chests may appear at times in the lawless zones within Laphsaran teeming with Kinah, Skill Book Pages (Level 60), and Gliding Skill Book Pages.
Sharp-eyed Daevas can embark on a unique treasure hunt, as three enchanted items are hidden throughout Laphsaran. These items include a tree, a rock, and a sack of grain, identified by their shimmering blue glow when hovering the cursor over them. Interact with these items, and a Drakan Treasure Hunter may emerge. Overcome him to claim Balic materials and Skill Book Pages (Level 60).
Terrors of the Deep: Subterra
Every Saturday night in the Subterran Haven, an especially fearsome creature will emerge from the shadowy water depths – Lord Subterra will bring calamity there for one hour starting at 11 PM. Both Elyos and Asmodians must band together to vanquish this formidable menace. Quick action is crucial, as the beast will disappear after an hour.
If you're successful in defeating Lord Subterra, the faction that inflicts the greatest damage will receive incredible rewards such as Sanguine Subterran earrings, Enraged Veille/Enraged Mastarius’ weapons and armor, and more. The losing faction can still earn smaller prizes from the special Subterra Participation Bonus Bundles.
Down with Dyads
A particularly devious figure roams Laphsaran – the Arch Dyad, Master of Arcane Sorcery! He appears in the occupied Tiamat legion citadel from 10:30 PM on the last Friday of the month. As with Lord Subterra, don't attempt to face him solo, as his potent skills can madden your mind and make the ground quiver.
Again, the faction contributing most to his defeat can look forward to particularly strong rewards, like Lady Lumiel’s Crown, Arch Dyad Skill Book Pages, Enraged Agent’s weapon/armor chests, the Greater Godstone Bundle, and more! Additional rewards can also be earned through a special raid mission.
The Arch Dyad’s dedicated followers are also active in Laphsaran, with squads of Dyad Stormtroopers patrolling the Saltspirit Plain every Saturday at 7 PM. Vanquish 20 Dyad Stormtroopers (Dyad Bloodbinders, Dyad Warriors, or Dyad Battle Mages), and their leader, Varatar, will be compelled to fight personally. Defeat him for the exclusive Sanguine Subterran Wings and Varatar’s Rare Manastone Bundle.
Gruesome Grand Chieftains Sirakha and Dhumuta
Each night when moonlight softly illuminates Laphsaran, two exceptionally potent figures emerge in the wilderness: Grand Chieftain Sirakha and Grand Chieftain Dhumuta. Grand Chieftain Sirakha appears at 9 PM while Grand Chieftain Dhumuta surfaces by 9:30 PM. Spectacular treasures like Skill Books (Level 58), Sanguine Subterran necklaces/rings, Souls of Violence, and more beckon those who prove victorious!
