In the latest update you can battle against other Daevas for precious resources on the Dranium Battlefield! The conflict over the powerful Blood Dranium rages on, and you’re stuck right in the middle of it. Read on to learn what to expect in the latest update!
How to Reach the Dranium Battlefield
You can only enter the Dranium Battlefield solo, not as a group. Click on the button with crossed swords in the bottom right of your screen every day between 8 PM and 10 PM and select Private Entry. You must have reached level 56–60 and will be assigned at random to a team with 5 other Daevas who may come from a mix of both Elyos and Asmodian factions.
The Bitter Battle for Blood Dranium
Despite the barren nature of Laphsaran, it is a land rich in valuable hidden resources.
Dragon Lord Tiamat once banished the Apsu Balaur to Laphsaran, where they ended their existence in petrification. Their resentment condensed over the centuries into stones called ‘black tears’. Buried under the layers of stone in Laphsaran, filled with the bitter spirits of the Apsu Balaur, these precious crystals were refined in their bodies into the keenly sought after Blood Dranium.
Blood Dranium had the ability to be strengthened in the shortest space of time – by those who hungered for great power.
Blood Dranium also has an almost limitless durability when crafted into weapons or armour. Ultimately, the battle over the main source of the Blood Dranium came to a head in a clash between Tiamat’s Balaur, the Elyos and the Asmodians, as all three factions made their claim over this precious resource and couldn’t risk it falling into enemy hands.
But Dranium is ultimately a Balic force. In order to avoid the shame of openly using the power of the Balaur, the Daevas hid their real identities during the battle and avoided any revelation of their true factional allegiances.
What to Expect in the Battle
Your goal on the Dranium Battlefield is to earn more points than the enemy team over the course of max. 30 minutes. You can earn points by ensuring that your team can harvest the Blood Dranium, as well as by defeating certain monsters. Of course, you also need to ensure the enemy team earns as few points as possible. A huge amount of Abyss points await the victors!
After entering the Dranium Battlefield, you’ll find yourself in the Prep Zone. Here you’ll need to get ready for the ensuing conflict. Your first goal should be to capture the Mining Areas. In each Mining Area you’ll find a Mining Device which you need to interact with to capture the area for your team. You’ll be relatively defenceless while doing this, so make sure you have a teammate nearby who can keep an eye on you and protect you from any potential enemies.
Once you’ve managed to capture the Mining Area for your team, it will change to your team’s colour on the map and a few guards will spawn to help you defend it.
You might have noticed there is a Central Mining Area. Bosses will spawn here at regular intervals who offer a huge number of points for the team that defeats them.
The team who defeats Alashane will get 1,000 points, plus a chance to loot Lady Lumiel’s Necklace! This huge chimera will appear multiple times; if the battle has gone on for a while, then Lunatic Alashane may appear, causing all other special opponents to disappear. The mysterious Vascaron may also make an appearance on the battlefield. He must be defeated for a particular quest.
In addition to the Mining Areas, you’ll also find two Dranium Storage Areas on the map. At the start of the battle, there won’t be anything in them, but over time these areas will become more tempting, as you can gather Dranium here worth 300 points for your team!
After a certain amount of time, there will be an opportunity for a member of your team to take on a special challenge, as access to the Hidden Mine opens up in the Prep Zone. This will only be open for a short time, so be quick and don’t let the opportunity slip away! It would be wise to put your strongest team member forward, as they will encounter a member of the enemy team in the Hidden Mine! If your champion emerges victorious from the duel, your team will enjoy a 2,000 point bounty for harvesting the massive Dranium deposits in the Hidden Mine.
The battle can end early if you a team manages to push forward to the enemy base on the opposite side of the map.
There is a large gate in front of the enemy base which must be destroyed. If you manage that, you will be confronted by guards, but at the centre of them stands your ultimate goal – the enemy general! If he is slain, you will be rewarded with 2,000 points and the battle will end. Of course the enemy team will do everything in their power to prevent this from happening.
Just remember thought that just because you’ve killed the enemy general doesn’t immediately mean you have won: if the 2,000 point reward isn’t enough to put your team in front, then you may have ended the battle prematurely only to seal your own defeat. The victorious team will receive a huge amount of Abyss points after the battle!
Tips & Tricks
Be aware of the various windstreams strewn around the map! You can use these to quickly move about, flanking the enemy team or laying a trap for them – but just remember, they can do the same to you!
Don’t forget that you can bring about a quick end to the battle by killing the enemy general. If you find yourself facing a stronger team, trying to end the battle early may be a wise strategy. Maybe those 2,000 points for defeating the general will be enough to steal victory before your enemies have time to convert their dominance into points.
In the keybindings you’ll find a new function making it easier to target enemy Daevas instead of monsters. This could prove particularly useful on the Dranium Battlefield, but PvP fans may find it useful in other areas as well.
