Challenging new instances will put your skills to the ultimate test in Update 2.5! Today we’re taking a look at the Crucible Challenge. Learn about what awaits you inside.
Training Alone: The Crucible Challenge
You can take up the gauntlet of the Crucible Challenge alone from levels 50-55 for the chance to pick up some prized treasures.
The instance can be entered once per week and resets weekly on Wednesdays at 9 AM.
Backstory
The Crucible Challenge is a training simulation powered by illusions which is designed to help Daevas to grow and become more powerful. This particular challenge must be faced alone.
Where Is the Crucible Challenge?
Elyos keen to improve their fighting skills can register for training at the entrance to the Kaisinel Academy in Sanctum, while Asmodians should head to the entrance of the Marchutan Priory in Pandaemonium.
The Instance
Although the Crucible Challenge always takes place in one and the same arena, through the clever use of illusory magic, it appears to present ever new challenges. The objective is to master a total of 6 stages, each divided into multiple rounds.
The goal each time is to defeat all of the monsters and then talk to the Recordkeeper to start the next stage. Defeated monsters will increase your score, with more points promising better rewards at the end of the instance.
You cannot use respawning skills or items in the Crucible, but if you do fall to the enemies you can use a Worthiness Ticket to continue the fight. Any remaining Worthiness Tickets disappear at the end of the training.
You can end the Crucible Challenge at any time by clicking the Stop Training button in the top right of the screen.
The Phases
The first stage is populated with a variety of belligerent plant species. Tear out the weeds and cut the Grissil of Verdure down to size to continue.
Out of the flora pan and into the fauna, as you are faced by either aggressive avians or bloodthirsty Kerubs and Spriggs who’ll try to make your life a misery. Survive that, and your help will be required in a bonus round, as Poppy is on the run from the Dukaki Cooks! Rescue the porky porgus from becoming their next meal to enjoy some special rewards.
The next stage will put your tactical thinking to the test, as you can make the following fight much easier for yourself. After you’re defeated the monsters, their leader will be waiting, before you must face a very misunderstood mosbear.
Your next foray will take you either to Haramel or you’ll find yourself taking on Kaliga and his minions in the Nightmare. Either way, Administrator Arminos will afterwards appear with a bonus round in the form of a little minigame: a choice of three chests. Choose wisely, and be rewarded. Choose poorly...
In stage 5 you’ll meet some familiar faces from Sanctum and Pandaemonium. Beat them at their own game and earn yourself the right to face the final opponent!
In the 6th and final stage, you must face Vanktrist Spacetwine, who will use every sinew of his strength to stop you from completing your training. Should you nevertheless achieve the feat, you can enjoy a range of prizes depending on your score, including wings, Balic materials and much more!
Tips and Tricks
Wise challengers would do well to take a short breather between stages to prepare, instead of talking straight to the Recordkeeper and charging blindly into the next stage.
