Ahoy Daevas,
Syd here, holding the reins as your Product Manager for Aion Classic with Gameforge. Taking some time to clue you in on what's brewing, what the game plan looks like, and how we are tuning things based on your thoughts for the rest of this year.
First up, let's dive into the roadmap details.
Scheduled later this year, Update 4.0 is set to roll out by late October/early November. This major update promises a lot of fresh content and features, featuring the Luminess class, a couple of new PvE instances, a PvP instance, and an entirely novel map primed to be the main activity hub. Plus, you'll see numerous QoL tweaks throughout. To spice things up even more, we're pairing it with Update 4.0 Part 2, crammed with pivotal class balancing revamps based on your feedback on Luminess and overall equilibrium in Part 1. This combo release should be smoother and more enjoyable right from the get-go.
But wait, there's more! Introducing a special, fleetingly available event server slated for late Q4. This server mirrors the Wind Server you might recognize from other Aion Classic spots. While the regional settings are still being hammered out, expect more information to come.
Let’s turn to some ongoing issues you’ve flagged:
We've started hosting regular gatherings with our game ambassadors, pleasantly fruitful so far. These dialogues are giving us a goldmine of insights into your worries and priorities, adding to your feedback gathered by our Community Managers. In direct response, we've forwarded several regional requests for changes to NC. These include tweaks to item and kinah drop rates, as well as efforts to make tough encounters more manageable. Once these changes are confirmed, implemented, and tested, we'll spill all the details. This is part of our steadfast commitment to making your daily escapades in Atreia more rewarding and to rolling with your feedback wherever we can.
Faction balance remains high on our agenda. We understand the struggles, especially for our Asmodian fans. To aid faction balance, we're debuting some catch-up means for our Asmodian friends in early August, designed to help them gear up quickly and compete fiercely in Balaurea sieges. We're also crafting specfic events, like special boss spawns making kinah and competitive gear easier to nab for the Asmos. As NC announced, a Faction Change Ticket is in the works and set to drop with Update 4.0 Part3, which in EU, is slated for Q1-Q2 next year.
Regarding those pesky game crashes, we're aware of your frustrations. NC is actively delving into this issue. Similar hiccups have recently been sorted out in Aion Live, so we’re hopeful for positive news soon. Your patience is valued, and I promise this issue's not being brushed aside.
Cheating is another thorn in our side. Since Update 3.0 landed in November, we've permanently tossed over 5,000 accounts for blatant cheating and botting. While it may still be frustrating to spot fishy actions despite these efforts, please remember your reports genuinely aid us in tackling cheaters. Keep reporting via our official Support Platform at https://aion.support.gameforge.com/, as this is the only accepted channel. Discord's not suitable for this. When lodging a ticket, always attach unaltered footage or snapshots clearly displaying the behavior, along with the exact timeline when it occurred. Understand that each ban requires rock-solid, irrefutable evidence as dictated by legal standards. This rigorous process might make it seem like nothing's happening, but each report gets a thorough once-over. Your ongoing support and vigilance are pivotal to this unending battle, and we genuinely appreciate your patience and cooperation. Meanwhile, I’ve been lucky enough to beta test Aion Riftshade—make sure you check it out, it's launching better solutions including server-side anticheat in Q1 2026!
Your input truly counts, and we’re persistently working to enhance Aion Classic for all. Thanks for sticking with the game. We can't wait for you to uncover all the new adventures we're crafting and eagerly anticipate the journeys ahead.
Until next time,
Syd
