In the new update, you can lock horns with the enemy faction, take down bosses, and much more in the cross-server Apheta Beluslan! Dextrous Daevas can also collect new crafting materials and use them to create tons of new items. Read on to learn all about what to expect in the new zone.
Backstory
Tiamat’s experiments with the mysterious power she discovered hidden in Balaurea brought Apheta Beluslan into being. It was the ruthless scientist Radan – once himself a Daeva but now in Tiamat’s service – who investigated this energy in the hopes of being able to imitate the power of Siel’s Relic. But his experiments had the unexpected side-effect of altering Beluslan through the corrupting dark energy they released. The darkness spread across Beluslan, infesting the land and the creatures who live there, transforming them into a sinister distortion of itself – Apheta Beluslan was born.
Worried by these threatening developments, the Elyos and Asmodians dispatched huge fleets of airships to learn the nature of these changes and take command of the situation. Upon arrival, the Daevas found themselves in a land reminiscent of Beluslan, the place in which they had spilled so much blood in countless battles. Yet they soon recognised numerous differences in the terrain and creatures living there, and experienced first hand the dark energies that permeated everything.
With a power almost equalling Siel’s own, Tiamat is now more dangerous than ever, and both Elyos and Asmodians alike are prepared to risk everything to stop her and her legions!
How to Reach Apheta Beluslan
Elyos can reach Apheta Beluslan through the Eos Portal in Inggison, while Asmodians should use the Minox Portal in Gelkmaros. You must have reached at least level 56 to travel to Apheta Beluslan.
The Ultimate Challenge: The Battlefield
Numerous garrisons are spread across Apheta Beluslan at strategic locations. The Balaur hold these bases initially, and it is up to brave Daevas to wrest them from their grip and conquer them. In order to do this, the commander of a garrison must be neutralised. But even after conquering a base, holding onto it is no less important! The enemy faction will naturally have their sights on these fortresses, and would be more than happy to see them fall into their own hands – or at least fall out of yours...
Shortly after conquering a base, the conquering faction’s commander will arrive in the garrison. Do your utmost to protect them. Only while the garrison is in your faction’s hands will you be able to complete the various quests there and earn the prized Ebony Gold Medal Pieces! These pieces can be combined to form Ebony Gold Medals which can be used to purchase two brand-new armour sets: the Elite Archon and Elite Guardian Squad Leader’s sets. You can swap your Ebony Gold Medals with Arnes in Inggison or Kromine in Gelkmaros.
Ebony Gold Medals can principally be earned in Apheta Beluslan, though not exclusively. Some of the activities which previously awarded Platinum Medals now also provide the new currency. Meanwhile, you can visit Duana in Inggison or Harik in Gelkmaros to trade your Ebony Gold Medals for Platinum Medals.
Special quests available at your hard-won garrison can also provide you with Garrison Seals. Certain travelling merchants are very interested in these: Even the most dangerous zone can be a profitable opportunity for smart Shugos with a good nose for business – especially when they have exclusive goods to offer. At least that’s the opinion of certain guild merchants who will be peddling their wares at various locations in Apheta Beluslan each evening from 7 PM to 2 AM (game time). But travelling merchants can only carry so much on their journeys, so their stocks are limited. It’s a case of first come, first served!
Nevertheless, for reasons of fairness, the guilds have agreed to limit the number of each individual items they will sell to each Daeva, in order to allow as many Daevas as possible to take advantage of their limited offers. Note that these merchants have recruited among their ranks some truly sneaky thieves from a rehabilitation programme: while they won’t jeopardise their probation by stealing from you, they will keep the merchants well informed about the contents of your bags! If you’re dragging hoards of goods around with you, the merchants won’t sell you even more.
Certain travelling Daevas are very interesting in the supplies the Shugos have to offer. They will offer you Aphetan Adventurer’s Seals in exchange, which you can redeem with Tasunerk (Elyos) or Tapherunerk (Asmodians). These two entrepreneurial Shugos know exactly how to get a Daeva’s heart pumping, and have an array of cosmetic items and emotes to offer! You’ll find them by the airlines in Apheta Beluslan.
The Horror of Alukina’s Palace: Velator Mortis
Every Saturday night, Alukina’s Palace is haunted by a particularly gruesome figure: it is visited upon by Velator Mortis for one hour from 11 PM. In the face of this great horror, it behoves Elyos and Asmodians alike to set aside their eternal conflict and join forces to banish this terrifying beast. But time is of the essence! The ghost will disappear upon the final strike of the bell at the end of the hour of Mortis.
If you manage to defeat Velator Mortis, the faction which dealt the most damage will earn fantastic rewards including new skill books, powerful earrings and more. The lesser faction can also benefit from smaller rewards in the form of special Velator Participation Bonus Bundles.
Cold-blooded Clerics: Heka and Zitan
Each evening as the sun sets and twilight heralds the coming night, two sinister beings step forth from the darkness: Mutant High Priest Heka and Mutant Priest Zitan. These two terrifying clerics appear in Apheta Beluslan at 7 PM, searching for Daevas foolish enough to engage them in battle. As with Velator Mortis, both Elyos and Asmodians would be well advised to set aside the hatchet and confront this danger together. The successful vanquishers of these frightful fanatics can expect to pick up great loot such as eternal earrings and rings, and level 56+ Stigmas!
