An icy night envelops Atreia, fading into drab hues under a menacing moon. Something stirs within the shadows? A shiver snakes down your spine as the chilling clink of chains freezes your blood. You sense the blades singing through the air, well before their deadly intent is fulfilled...
An all-new class, the Revenant, is set to debut in AION Classic! This guide gives you insight into their essence and some pointers on mastering the new class.
Backstory
Revenants begin their journey from a tortured, fateful history. Once Daevas ensnared by Tiamat's legion, they endured harsh experiments and cruel mind manipulation, which stripped them of their wings. Yet, they managed a daring escape, reclaiming freedom, and with time, their memories. In Atreia, they re-emerged among the Daevas, wings unfurled once more.
Haunted by their fate, they pursue their own destiny. They haven't forgotten the fallen comrades left behind, feeling deceived and abandoned by their leaders, left under Tiamat’s oppression. With rebellion coursing through their veins and memories of imprisonment afresh, they forge a path separate from the other Daevas...
What Defines a Revenant?
Revenants embark on their quest at level 1 as Soldiers in Telos, a zone filled with quests unique to them. Clad in leather armor and uniquely wielding chainblades, they engage foes at a medium range.
Soldiers shine in combat with potent attack skills effective both at a distance and in close-quarters combat, showcasing fighting prowess characterized by agility and versatility.
Upon ascending to Daevas, Soldiers transform to become Revenants, channeling thunder and lightning powers through remarkable skills, excelling in battle with nimble maneuvers. They utilize Ion Flux as their key combat resource, charged by some skills and drained by others. Unused, it diminishes over time.
Revenants wield formidable AoE abilities capable of repelling multiple foes—skills like Thunderstrike, Fate’s Executioner, and Rolling Thunder demand respect. Their skills feature a unique attribute: Ion-infused skills can be used within skill chains without breaking the chain! However, skill chains will still interrupt other skill chains.
Parrying is crucial when playing a Revenant, enabling execution of counter-attacks, like with Electric Resonance or Charged Burst. Or they may seize the moment to empower themselves with skills like Electric Boost.
Additionally, Revenants possess potent mobility skills like Surge Sprint to swiftly close in on foes. If things go awry, Power Circuit allows them to retreat to the Surge Sprint initiation point rapidly.
Tips & Tricks
Stay vigilant! The Revenueant's skills are crafted for rapid attacks, and leather armor offers lighter protection compared to sturdier alternatives. If struck, a high parry rate is invaluable—utilize your skills and counter-attacks effectively in such situations!
An adept Revenant keeps in mind their Ion Flux levels, balancing skills to efficiently charge and utilize this resource. It's vital to have sufficient Ion Flux to execute powerful counterattacks when opportunities arise!
