Out of nowhere, a powerful figure appeared in a flash, overwhelming the enemy under a barrage of blows… and the fight was over!
A brand-new class is coming to AION Classic in the form of the Brawler! In this guide you’ll get a glimpse of what’s to come, learn what the Brawler is all about, plus find a few tips and tricks for getting to grips with the new class.
Backstory
The path of the Brawler is shrouded in mystery, the memories faded and incomplete. Suffering with this clouded knowledge of the past, the mysterious Sarakiel appears before him and offers to help to restore his memories. But who is she? And how do they know each other?
Gradually, his memories start to return to him piecemeal: the Manor of Illumination, that school for promising young Daevas, and there among them, the Brawler and his friends. But this apparently idyllic centre of learning hides a sinister side. The Brawler must recover his most painful memories to discover his true self and learn where his future path will lead him...
What Makes a Brawler?
Brawlers start their journey as Martial Artists. At the start of their path they must follow the mysterious Sarakiel on a journey through their memories which leads them to the Manor of Illumination. Brawlers use leather armour and are armed with lightning-fast Dragon Claws on their fists, melee weapons used only by this class.
Martial Artists are specialised at ending the fight quickly with furious melee attacks. They have a versatile combat style, with certain skills which are capable of reducing the cooldown of other skills. Simultaneously they charge up their Qi in combat. Once this has been fully charged, they deal hugely more damage for a limited time. Upon ascending to become Daevas, Martial Artists become Brawlers, learning and becoming versed in divine martial arts techniques.
The Brawler has quick movement abilities such as the Teleport Counter which allows them to quickly close down their opponents. They can reflect their enemies’ attacks and make life difficult for them with debuffs. If you like action-packed melee combat which rewards precision timing, this is the perfect class for you!
Tips & Tricks
Stay on your toes! The Brawler only wears leather armour so as not to restrict their movement. While the class has access to skills for keeping a single opponent in check, you’re best leaving defending against larger groups of enemies to your more heavily armoured allies. If you get hit, remember after parrying to use the skills and counters designed precisely for this situation!
Good timing is critical for Brawlers. First and foremost, you need it when using your skills to reset the cooldown of your other skills. Doing this successfully will maximise the use of your skills, which in turn will allow you to charge your Qi faster! There again timing is everything, because you’ll want to aim to fill your Qi such that you unleash your bonus damage at the best possible time.
