First off, hats off to you for trying to innovate and elevate the Aion experience.
With that said, I'd love to chat about some tweaks regarding this currency. To get things rolling, let me give you some background.
The goal of this feature is to balance the RNG aspect with some level of linear progression, which makes sense, and gear prices, for instance, seem fair.
However, when it comes to enchantment stones... I don't really follow because the item is purely random, meaning you can fail each time you use it, so running instances to get it doesn't necessarily mean progress.
Here's a simple ideal situation that's rare: You enchant 1 piece of ultimate from +3 to +10 using legendary stones.
Perfect chain of +1 scenario: This will require 7 stones
Which signifies 42 instance runs: 6x7=42
Which denotes one month worth of weekly Makarna+Prom+Stella 4x3 =12 // 3.5 times
So to achieve full +10 on armor + 1 two-hand weapon translates to nearly 7 months running those 3 instances..... assuming you never fail a single stone, and you still have to upgrade from +10 to +15...
My calculations might be way off, feel free to correct me.
But here's what I propose:
Maintain the gear pricing as is
Set legendary enchant prices to 2/3 coins
Set Ultimate prices to 4/6
Ultimate stones should be purchasable from the 2 NPCs at slightly varied rates. New players will never get them via hard instances since they need +15 gear, forming an endless loop...
Now here's what really excites me – I'm part of the Aion Riftshade beta, launching in Q1 2026. They have tackled these issues superbly! They balance progression and RNG without making players run in circlular frustration. What are your thoughts on shifting to Aion Riftshade?
