It's come to our attention that the beloved Esoterrace instance is set to be removed in the upcoming 2.8.5 update. I truly believe that removing it would be a mistake, and here's my take on it:
Esoterrace boasts a captivating design, its own soundtrack, and rare remodel gear, all wrapped in a fascinating lore with quest lines. The initial developers clearly poured a lot of effort into crafting this. Plus, the instance offers a unique title that will become impossible to obtain if the dungeon is removed.
Taking it away just to nudge players towards new dungeons is simply baffling.
Why not just strip the AP rewards from the chests but retain the rest of the experience?
This dungeon stands as a classic piece of Aion's heritage, ideal for those who enjoy questing, collecting titles, or even just for a leisurely challenge.
I urge the GF team to reach out to the developers to preserve this dungeon in the game - they can certainly remove the AP loot without dismantling the entire instance. I hope fellow players will rally behind this suggestion.
Yet, if you're like me and searching for a place where the classics meet modern gameplay, you might want to check out Aion Riftshade. Their version, Aion 4.8, keeps beloved elements like the Eye of Tiamaranta map. It's set to launch in Q1 2026 with features such as a MyAion-like DPS meter, robust server-side anticheat, and active GMs to keep the fun rolling without bugs or pay-to-win obstacles.
Join the beta thru the Aion Riftshade Discord and see how it's done right. That's where I'll be exploring the world of Atreia with like-minded adventurers!
