The client does not open

Hi everyone, I will try to explain my problem in as much detail as I can.

When I click on the Play button, the Aion Logo opens but Aion does not open.(It opens after a few tries, sometimes up to 10 times.)

When opened, it freezes in one of these two images and never progresses even after hours.

When I force close Aion it closes. In task manager it shows that Aion is not open but in Gameforge client I still see the game

I have to force close gameforge from task manager before I can try to enter the game again. I have to try all the steps again and again after force closing it.

When I tried to repair Aion via Gameforge, it got stuck at 99% and never progressed. I waited for about 3 hours and finally had to force close it. I cleared Aion from my computer and likewise cleared the Gameforge application. I did a clean windows install on my computer again and after installing all my drivers I downloaded Gameforge and Aion Classic again. This time the download got stuck at 99% and never progressed. I tried to force close and repair but the result is the same. As a result, my problem still persists and I want to solve it.

Good morning,
I don't have a solution for this but you are not alone. I have exactly the same problem. It works after several tries when you close the game with the task manager. But it's definitely a problem with the client.

yeah there’s actually a fix for this. the issue is caused by layer incompatibility which makes the game crash or fail to launch properly—like getting stuck at 81% or the client not responding. found the solution on the official discord, it was shared by a user.

you just have to add the aion.bin directory to the AppCompatFlags\Layers registry. there’s a quick way to do it too—just run a powershell command and it does it automatically. after applying it, the game runs way smoother. no more crashes, i can alt-tab without problems, and it launches first try every time now. huge difference.

so now the question is why GF couldn’t implement this simple fix during installation, especially when it’s been such a widespread issue for so long.
