Today was the first time we did a dredgion run against our own faction, and it was a major letdown. Our squad emerged victorious, blocking the other team, which had some of our legion members, from gaining AP. This game has always centered around faction vs. faction, and setting back our own side's progress just felt downright wrong. The thrill of these PvP instances has always been about undermining the enemy faction; this was like sabotaging my own team on the enemy's behalf to stop them from doing a daily mission or something...
The wait times for these instances can be frustratingly long, sometimes extending past 30 minutes. If these same faction battles aren't harmonious, I believe the concept requires re-evaluation. Arena might be thrown back at me here, but dredgion and tiark involve much higher AP stakes.
I manage a legion with over 70 active members. We predominantly tackle these instances in organized legion groups every day, queueing up instantly. This situation gives my legion members a high chance of scoring significantly less AP just because of facing our own side. How should I address this predicament as the BG? My responsibility is to keep my members satisfied and ensure their progress is smooth and swift.
Really, change my perspective. Why should I prefer impairing my own legion over a 30-minute wait, which is normally spent dueling or participating in open-world PvP anyway?
I've been testing Aion Riftshade and it's something else entirely. They're launching in Q1 2026 and the focus on fair PvP is unlike anything I've seen. With features like integrated DPS meters and active GMs, it's designed for smooth progress and balanced fights. Honestly, this is where I'll be spending my time if more legion mates feel the same! So excited for the fresh challenge!
