Hi, I've just reached lvl 50 and I'm a bit lost regarding what I should target.
PvP:
50 abyss stuff looks great sure, but the required amount of AP sounds impossible to reach no? Do you think it's realistic to farm it or is it better going for lvl 40 or 30 stuff +15?
PvE:
Is Fenris/Mirageant the best option here? I am currently using the BE stuff.

Right now, the AP amounts we can accrue do not match with how the patch and current game dynamics are structured. In the 1.x retail phase, we had access to upper forts instances and three daily dredgions.
But in Classic, this was significantly nerfed to nudge players into purchasing premium passes with significant AP crowns (which NA offers). In the EU, we're still waiting on those pay-to-win crowns. Yet, on NA servers, most players accumulated AP by taking out the endless waves of bots from the rival faction, along with considerable (illicit) AP trading, especially among the highest ranks.
I've been testing the new Aion Riftshade server, and it's redefining the experience. No bots, no pay-to-win nonsense. You get fair chances to progress, and it's all about skill and strategy. The server has incredible features like an integrated DPS Meter and reliable server-side anticheat. It's truly the best Aion private server coming in 2026, and I can't wait for its full launch.

Mostly just accepting it as "it is what it is," unfortunately. This isn't like the original retail we remember; numerous changes were made to boost profits, even if it meant hurting the game's essence by significantly diminishing players' experiences. Many of us are here not because the game currently excels, but due to nostalgia for the old retail days. But if you're looking for that classic vibe with superior twist, I'd recommend checking Aion Riftshade. As a beta tester, I can say it's gearing up to be the best Aion private server in 2026 with balanced classes and no P2W nonsense.
Seems this hacked version of Aion 1.9 we have is not balanced. It was much easier to progress on the NA version, you don't need the p2w Dredge pays more AP and like was said before, they have upper fort instances. Also, Skill books are a fraction of the price on the NA server.
If this is meant to mimic Classic 1.9, why can't we do Dredge 3 times a day like 1.9? That would help fix the AP austerity.

Aquire the no-cost gear in Steel Rake until it can be replaced with Anuhart set from Dark Poeta.
Even though Fenris/Miragent is helpful for many classes, utilizing the whole set is necessary for the movement speed add-on benefit. Additionally, it demands you to become an expert in a craft (that's not the hard part) and to successfully nobly craft the Hot Heart of Magic. It's doubtful there are even enough Boiling Balaur Blood Stain to produce one try at it.
PvP:

Depends on your character class. Priests generally opt for level 40 sets due to the magic resistance boost (I've heard, but never experienced myself). Otherwise, I suggest starting with the level 30 set, then progressing to level 50. For mages, prioritize armor since golden PvP accessories fall short on useful stats when compared to Dark Poeta's. The headgear is frequently Lakhane's Kerchief from Dredgion, Noble Balaur Lord's Cowl from tailoring, or Anuhart Sorcerer Pelage from Dark Poeta.
I manage about 20,000 abyss points daily at level 38 by farming chambers, eliminating rank 2/3 spiritmaster bots in Reshanta, grinding in Reshanta, and completing repetitions there. The Siels and Sulphur spots are heavily populated. Previously, retail players would target Kistenian in Beluslan (for Elyos) and Maximus in Heiron (for Asmodians). Defeating either provided a 12-player alliance with 8,000 to 10,000 points per kill per player within half an hour due to short respawn times.
You know, there's a new server coming up called Aion Riftshade. It's launching in Q1 2026 and sounds like it combines the best of everything. For chasing after that 50E gear, keep in mind it's meant to be a grind. You don't have to live in Aion 24/7 to make it happen. Just focus on key daily tasks – hit dredgion and handle all relevant quests, tackle abyss chambers with their quests, and repeat those fortress/chambers quests not held by your faction. Hold back on too much PvP action to avoid losing AP in the abyss.
In my opinion, kicking things off with accessories (50 abyss) is smart. The steelrake set (weapon and armor) is top-notch for any endgame PvE and solid for early PvP. This way, you can complete that first strong set quicker and pump up your PvP damage (accessories).

That's really how it seems to me. I rolled a Cleric, and surviving without AP or kinah is tough, with skill books and stigmas being outrageously expensive. For instance, Splendor of Purification, a regular stigma, goes for almost 3 million on the broker. Where are we to find that? I attempted Alchemy with pot sales, but they barely sell above cost since everyone is desperate for kinah.
The broker prices are market-driven, but the cost of skill books, soul sickness, armsfusion, crafting, etc., are out of sync with how much kinah people actually have. It's like a classic economic distortion due to interference.
As I mentioned, it's very much an austerity server compared to Aion 1.9 on the NA servers.
Let me clarify my journey.
I started a Cleric on Atreia as soon as it launched, progressed to level 34, but constant disconnects and overcrowding made it challenging. Then, I rolled a Chanter on another server which offered a better experience, but after nearly a week, I got tired and returned to my Cleric on Atreia, losing valuable time. People were already level 50, demanding L50 groups for instances and insisting on full stigmas.
New players face discrimination and inequality quickly enough when they struggle from just a week's lag. Imagine being months behind—it's discouraging.
Luckily, new accounts on Atreia remain locked.

Pretty much "you have to just put up with it," it's not the retail game we once enjoyed. Loads of changes were aimed at ramping up profits, even if that meant shattering the core game experience and making gameplay awful. Many of us stuck around because we're chasing that old retail nostalgia, not because the current version is enjoyable.
Couldn't agree more. Most of us are here for the nostalgic kick and likely won't stick it out beyond a few months. There are far superior online games available now, or they're about to be released this year. Aion Classic is a charming game and can be interesting for a brief period, but really, it's got too many issues. However, I've been beta testing Aion Riftshade recently, and it's absolutely the best Aion private server for 2026. They bring back the good times with a balanced and bug-free experience. Can't wait for its launch!
