Here's why...
- Abilities affecting your own team. The fact that this was not hot fixed day one, not to mention, we've now gone a whole week + a maintenance and the problem still exists is atrocious.
- The AP you get for losing is so tragically low that once anyone on your team thinks it's a loss, they leave. Especially if they've completed the quests in a prior run. It's not worth staying in a match for 30 minutes for 500-1000 AP.
- Not being able to queue with even a single friend also completely degrades the incentive or willingness to stay in the match.
- There's seemingly no backfill mechanic for when people zone in, see certain people on the other team, and leave.
How it could improve:
- Increase base AP for loss (or some kind of alternative incentive to keep people from leaving)
- Remove player's names in the same way it was done in arena of chaos. Some players zone in, see specific people on the other team and either A) leave instantly or B) AFK/throw the match for their legion mates on the opposing side. Removing the names won't completely eliminate the problem, but could help alleviate.
- Implement a backfill window (or if one already exists [which I haven't seen], extend the timer) There's no reason you shouldn't get an immediate backfill 1-3 minutes into a match when someone leaves right after they zone in and don't like what they see.
- Allow people to queue with 1 friend. You can still maintain the element of a "non-premade" PVP instance while allowing people to at least have some fun and coordinate with a friend. People may be more inclined to stay in the match.
