I notice that network traffic was significantly increased: in completely empty places liks studio client can receive like 75MB/hour from server. Before update it was like 1MB/hour in empty place. Looks like this is a bug.
Finally someone else talking about this.
Galeas any ideas what might cause this? It's insane in a couple of hours of game play I burn through close to 1 gb of data.
It just doesn't make any sense.
to me is consuming me 1mega per second with peaks of 27,000,000 ping and loss of packets, so there is no one to play, I did tests and the problem is neither my pc nor the network, I assume that it will be GF's thing because in the beta server I passed the same thing
7.5 network code is broken. Client is getting spammed by server with siege info packets (0x00D1 and 0x0182). I have received 3163 these kind of packets in 24 seconds just after logging in. I haven't seen something like this in 6.2 - 7.3 patches. Network and CPU are loaded much more than in previous updates. It might be problem for people with low frequency CPUs and low bandwidth download speed.
Another thing is that their network code is probably never cleaned. Each version adds something new to server-client protocol, but they never get rid of old, not used any more stuff. It makes network and CPU more busy with each new update. They had best chance to clean it up when they came up with idea of total rework of items, stats in 6.0. Instead they kept everything and just added new stuff on top of that.
EDIT:
I have made more accurate test.
Session time: 1 minute after logging in.
It means that number of instances of only these two packets is 94% of all packet instances, and their combined size is 96,6% of all packets received.
Almost 12 MB received in 1 minute means that Aion now requires network connection with download speed of 1.6 Mb/s dedicated for game only.
Galeas, feel free to forward my message to NCsoft.
Yup, from start this patch lagging very hard, especially during crowded times. You can only normal play in wide-server instances, this works like pre 7.5 patch. I hope GF will fix it soon because without the fix i feel forced to play only at night (a lot of less freezes and lags) to do daily/weekly quests. Playing during day is completely unplayable for me actually.
Good that i have now unlimited Internet (i had earlier limited to 20 GB per month several months ago) because Aion client all the time is downloading over 0.5 GB per hour, when in pre 7.5 patches it was some 10x less data, and its "consuming" actually whole internet bandwidth during play.

I can confirm this. These two problematic packets are sent only on main game servers.
Anyway GF won't be able to do anything with it. Exactly same problem showed up in NA region just after 7.5 update. It needs to be forwarded to NCsoft. They need to fix their network code and prepare patch for both regions.
EDIT:
Just rechecked if this problem still occurs in NA region. It doesn't. Now these problematic packets are received just once after logging in. NA got hotfix last Thursday: https://twitter.com/AionOps/status/1271184484256436226.
Galeas, ask for same hotfix for EU
Lovely!
Its gonan take a WhIlE before we will get this hotfix. It is unplayable for me also during day, Im gonan switch into "night mode".
I have few sec delay (sometimes) when using skills which is annoying.
Cant belive it. We have 2020 , not 1980. xD
I forwarded the issue to the QA Team.

I'm away from the pc, but can anyone confirm if this was somewhat addressed in today's maintenance package?
Siege info packets got fixed. No more spamming client with these packets.
