Hello,

Assassin's skill Ambush Raid would get you out of hide without using the skill when you're close to the target and trying to hit it.

You can't spam Ambush Raid while moving towards the target. Just use it when you're in range, don't mash the button while being out of range and you'll be fine. It's been like this since the skill itself was introduced.
