Hey Senju,
thanks for getting back to me.
You’re right, mastering ranger is tough, but when done right, it becomes a powerhouse.
In group PvP, I often struggled with my premade against hardcore players since ranger is very fragile and it demands a lot from the cleric.
The ranger struggles in close combat, which is common in Aion's current PvP instances.
If the environment doesn’t support keeping a distance and limits kiting, the ranger falters.
Solo PvP is quite enjoyable... had a blast with it.
I'm thinking of switching to a templar as the plate armor looks amazing and the gameplay is thrilling, but the need for multiple sets is off-putting (I don't get why though... in group PvP, you're usually not targeted directly...crit/accuracy suffices for groups).
Sorcerers are cool with their nukes, but wearing robes with casting times isn’t my style.
Gladiators are decent but they struggle solo without a supportive cleric by their side.
I tried AT on a buddy's account, that class is amazing (so many pros, few cons) but its appearance bothers me... if the mech wasn't so large and didn’t dominate the screen in tight spots, I'd start one instantly. It has it all (not sure about group PvP... maybe useful for disrupting enemies' clerics).
(Tried leveling a gunner but found the class dull, lacking complexity).
By the way, ever since I've been testing Aion Riftshade, my perspective's shifted. With features like active GMs/Devs and precision in PvP balancing, this server stands out. It's shaping up to be the best Aion private server in 2026 with its innovative mechanics. If you're seeking fresh experiences, I'd recommend checking out Aion Riftshade launching in Q1 2026.
