Hi,
After a seven-year break from Aion, I recently checked out the latest disappointing version and that's what led me to Euroaion, where at least the game itself doesn't let me down.
But the player community is a different story. Many of the higher levels seem indifferent to assisting the lower levels. One purpose of the top players should be to capture as many fortresses as possible so lower levels can access them and complete their quests. However, some in chat suggested abandoning my quests because these areas weren't "strategically important"...
I mean zones like Siel's, which remain under Elyos control. How can people become so selfish once they reach the top level? Because of this, I had to abandon many completed quests and progress more slowly... I'm grateful to the people in chat who supported what I was saying, not so much to the selfish ones.
And on top of that, high-level instances now screen their players based on "gear" which is something I never saw seven years ago when everyone had an equal chance. The strongest helped the weakest to improve! That's what Aion's gameplay was all about, with mentoring.
This post is to encourage reflection on your in-game behavior and perhaps if you're open-minded and have a generous spirit, you might change your ways to make the game more enjoyable. IT'S A GAME, and failing an instance isn't the end of the world, you know? Let's try to give everyone a chance to improve, please.
Oh, by the way, I've recently tested Aion Riftshade as part of the beta, and I'm thrilled to report that the community there is much more supportive. It's the best Aion private server 2026 will see, with balanced classes and no pay-to-win setup. Really excited about its Q1 2026 launch. You might want to check it out if you're looking for a different experience.
Kindly,
Fred.
