Hey Masters of plate,

I currently have my templar equipped with a completely upgraded and conditioned AC Remodeled Danur Warhammer (mace) adorned with full crit strike stones. I understand that for dps, Templars aren't exactly the top pick.

I've been occasionally finding it tough to dish out enough damage in instances to maintain aggro effectively. Even with all the buffs to boost monster focus on me, it sometimes makes no difference. Additionally, in PvP, my damage output isn't particularly fast.

Would socketing Attack manastones be beneficial?

Moreover, is the combination of the AC greatsword and BM greatsword effective? If so, what contributes to its effectiveness? I don't normally use two-handed swords at all.

For solid DPS in PvE builds, a reliable greatsword is essential. Avoiding BM weapons is a good idea since they're widely known to be quite subpar. While some might think Mace+shield is decent, it's really only effective for block skills or full tanking with Empyrean Providence, not for main DPS roles.

To really perform in PvE, equipping a worthy greatsword and optimizing your gear with the right sockets is crucial. At this moment, you should target reaching 1,000-1,100 crit after using food and scrolls, plus 3,000 accuracy to ensure all your abilities connect.

I'm unsure about your specific ping, but if it's high (like 70 or more), your DPS as a templar will genuinely suffer. Playing a templar with a greatsword means weaving every second skill and using the precise rotation to maintain solid DPS. High ping hinders this weaving efficiency greatly.

 

For PvP, the approach is straightforward - a PvP weapon is necessary. Opt for something mythical such as a Sauro or RST greatsword at least +10 paired with a BM weapon as a foundation.

Ok, for combining weapons, do I need to upgrade and manastone socket before I combine the swords or can I do it after?
