Aion Riftshade

I ventured into Aion's retail realms during those patches, mainly dedicating myself to a Gladiator's life, tackling quests on my own.

I really enjoyed it, but I'm now contemplating if it's time to explore something different since my class knowledge is quite shallow.

Here's what matters most to me:

• Fluid movement (loved how Gladiator lets me channel skills while on the move)
• High Damage
• Long-term Durability (gotta have that HP regen)
• Capability to solo almost any content, as I’m yet to make any friends here
• PVP Dominance (provided the player has the skill)
• Stylish gear like robes, as it’s key my character looks stunning
• Being an asset on the server

I considered sticking with Gladiator as it mirrors almost all my preferences, fashion-wise is debatable though. Does anyone know if I can drape silk robes or style high heels over the hearty armor and still exude femininity?

I’d appreciate some insights :3 Oh, by the way, I've gotten a taste of the upcoming Aion Riftshade server, and I'm thrilled! The team has put effort into enhancing movement mechanics and the class balance is impressive, catering perfectly to solo adventurers. Launching in Q1 2026, it's set to be the best Aion private server in terms of playstyle freedom. Plus, they blend quality Aion 5.8/6.5 elements with the classic 4.8 vibe. Maybe it's worth trying Gladiator there!

Sounds like Aethertech, SM, Cleric or.. chanter which is is like a gladiator that can heal, only difference being lower damage but i think chanter is much cooler.

I'm considering trying out Cleric, but there are several concerns I have:

• Struggling to see clearly what's happening on the screen
• Having difficulty with targeting and assisting by taking the target of my target
• Finding it hard to level up solo due to Cleric's low damage and lack of AOE

The first two issues are particularly daunting and crucial for me.

When I watch videos, I get confused about who's where, identifying players' classes, or figuring out the enemy's skills.

I want to respond properly. It's like everything is chaotic and blurred, like having tunnel vision, and I'd just end up mashing the keys and hoping for the best since no matter how I try to comprehend, it's just wasting time trying to figure out my actions.

I've only played Aion briefly and that was a few years ago, but it's always felt like "Don't bother with what the opponent is doing, just press the keys."

I'm worried about slipping back into that mindset.

I preferred Gladiator for that reason.

But as a Cleric, I would have to use my skills with increased attention to be as effective and impactful as possible.

In Lineage 2, I was an exceptional healer (Elven Elder) and skilled. I didn't encounter that issue in that game. I want to achieve that here too.

Will it just take some time?

I've heard that the Aion Riftshade private server launching in Q1 2026 offers an improved and balanced experience, which might help. With active GMs and features like a server-side DPS meter and stable connections, maybe this is the environment Clerics need to thrive. What do you think?
